I wish I were writing with another installment of the week’s workouts.  Unfortunately, that’s not the case.  Last night my beautiful, 23 year old step-daughter, Brittani, lost her life in an auto accident.  She was a ministry student, due to graduate from Emmanuel College next weekend.  She had just recently returned to the US from a long stint of missionary work in South Africa.  Her loss is devastating to Michelle and me.  Needless to say, my mind and heart are elsewhere, and will be for some time.  I will be back, though, because we always drift back to what ultimately sustains us.

What ever your spiritual or philosophical leaning, please send out a healing vibe to Michelle; she desperately needs it.

  6. How horrible, I am very sorry to hear this news. I have never commented on your blog, though I have been reading it for quite some time. However, I wanted you to know that I am supporting you through prayer, and am so sorry to hear about this.

Please tell your wife that people are praying for you, her, and your family.

  7. *WEEP* I am so SO sorry for your Meesus TTP and you. Auto accidents are devasting. My sisters, father and I lost our mother when I was 10 under the same circumstances.

The loss is the most tragic of losses. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this time of pain and forever. God be with you and your family.

  8. Keith and Michelle,

There is no grief more severe than the loss of one’s child. I cannot imagine the pain that you must be feeling, and the only comfort I can offer is to know that there are MANY people (including people you have never met) holding you close in their thoughts and prayers. If there is a memorial set up for your step-daughter, please let us know how we can contribute.

    • Thanks again folks, for all the kind words. Michelle and I both are grateful for the outpouring of support.

  9. Thank you all so very much. We appreciate all of your kind words, thoughts & prayers. You are all so very kind to give of yourselves in this way to people you know in such a way but those are the things that make these things easier to get through to know there are people out there that care. There will be a fund set up for Brittani and we will post that information when it is available,

    Be blessed,
    M 😉

  10. So sorry to learn of your loss.

My deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family. The loss of a child, adult or otherwise, is truly the greatest loss any of us could experience.

  11. Keith & Michelle,
My heart broke to learn of your loss. As I read about Brittani on your blog, I imagine you and Michelle were so proud of the impact she had made in her young life.

I walked over to your office desk to look at pictures of your family and pray for all of you. My wife (April) and I will continue to pray for you during this difficult time. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to call me.

    Your friend,

  12. Keith,
I was just thinking and writing about you today, and especially recommended your site to a friend of my mine that could benefit from your perspective.

One of the reasons that I and others commune with you is that your a man that understands that in this life fitness/health is just a means to the end of spending more time with the ones that you love. I wish you and your loved ones peace right now, and the grace that comes from knowing that you were gifted in this life to be with each other then, now and going forward with all of the memories that you have made over the years.

Peace on to you and your loved ones.

  13. Keith, I have never commented on your blog before but have been faithfully reading it for months. Your loss stuns me. God bless you and your family.

  14. Keith, Michelle, and Family,

My deepest condolences to you for your terrible, heart-wrenching loss. My thoughts are with you. Hang in there through this difficult time, and we’ll all be here when you get back.

    • Michelle and I have read, and are very thankful for, all of your comments. We wish we could respond personally to everyone, and tell each and every one of you how much your thoughts and prayers mean to us.
      God bless —

  15. Keith, I’ve been away for awhile and I just read the terrible news. My thoughts are with you and Michelle…
